When a child wants to practice sports and be competitive, it not only takes his/her skills and time to improve. It is also somehow limited or driven by the parents time and money.
In the case of Ice Hockey the equipment and fees to play every season are more expensive compared with other sports. The reason is because:
- The equipment has to be renewed every season. The child keeps growing. This is a challenge that all parents can relate to, so new skates, new pads, new sticks, new helmet. Plus, the wear and tear is also there.
- To practice Ice Hockey, you need time in the ice rink all year long. Getting access to ice time is expensive. Every hour of ice will vary from $40 - $60 per hour. If you want to take it to the next level, you can not only practice one hour per week. You need as much as possible. The clubs usually try to deal with this by negotiating ice time in bulk or exchanging ice time with other clubs, but the reality is that more ice time equals more money that parents will have to pay to the clubs.
- There are multiple fees associated with been part of an organization, participate in Hockey camps and get additional training resources.

JR always dream of becoming a Hockey player since he was in 1st grade. He is looking to take it to the next level. Any additional help will be of great use for him to continue this path and make his dream a reality.
